Hi, I'm Chad Penzo Thacker, an agent at the Mark Buckner Group here at Compass.

I'm really excited to be joining the Compass team of real estate professionals and to be helping my clients realize their dream of buying and owning a piece of Chicagoland. I'm a Kentucky native. I attended the University of Louisville where I studied political science, but I've called Chicago home for about the past 10 years.

Now. I currently reside in Lakeview, one of my favorite Chicago neighborhoods, but I'm a little biased. I happen to love the lake. I love the water. I love being anywhere near the lake. On a warm summer day, like most Chicagoans, you can find me out near the lake, riding a bike When I’m not in Chicago, I love traveling with my husband, Louis.

So when people ask what my favorite part of this job is, the first thing that I usually reply is I don't consider this a job at all. For me, I'm living my dream. I grew up watching Trading Spaces and House Hunters with my mom. And I feel like I'm living that dream now by helping my clients.

I would really love to work with you. I think that I could bring a unique perspective to the table. Having rented, owned, and sold my own home, I think I’m uniquely able to help my clients navigate that experience. Additionally, I've lived in several different neighborhoods in the 10 years that I've lived in Chicago. I think that brings an interesting angle to help my clients from. I know how to explore the city with someone, see what works for them, and help them decide where they can find their perfect home.

After all, buying a home is so much more than just buying a wooden box. A home is our sacred sanctuary that we've come to at the end of the day. It’s our place to unwind after long days at work or as most of us now know during working during COVID, it is our work, our home, our play. So why not make that space, the space that you love and brings you joy. And that's one of the greatest things I love about this job is just helping my clients find that joy, making long lasting memories with their families.
